Valentine's Day!

Image
It's St. Valentine's Day today- the holiday of true lurrrve!  As I'm sure most of you will be aware, currently I am single, and this is my first Valentine's Day alone. Whilst I should have been on holiday in Bruges with someone I thought was my soul mate, I instead was at work and with my family, doing nothing romantic at all. But has it been sad? Absolutely not. Instead of celebrating Valentine's on just one day, my friends have allowed me to celebrate for the whole  weekend- something I never would have done with my previous partner, who slept more than he was awake. Yesterday, I met my best girl friend Bobbie in London for a lunch date and she surprised me with a bag full of gifts to make me smile as it was my "first valentine's without presents". In the evening, I went to the cinema with my two best boy friends, James and Alec. Today I was at work with my lovely work girls and then this evening I'm spending it having a meal with ...

90's sports trend SS16

Image
If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know I'm not really a fashion blogger. If you've been following my tweets recently, you'll have seen how head over heels I have fallen for the latest fashion trend of 90's sports wear. So, put the two together and you get one very poor Flo with lots of 90's sports clothes and her first fashion blog post!  I've never done one of these before so excuse my chunky thighs, awkward poses and slightly off editing! These are my favourite looks for this season though so I hope you enjoy them!  Look 1- Cold shoulders. This look is so simple and probably the least sporty of them all, so suitable for pretty much anyone! The cold shoulder, holey jumper is so simple but can be dressed up with jeans and heeled boots or- for the sake of this trend- dressed down for a more casual, sporty look! I've paired the jumper with some plain black "treggings" (really thick leggings!), m...

The worst thing about my break up

Image
Break up's aren't nice or easy for anybody. There's pain, frustration, tears and everything else in between. My break up was no different. There was pain- a lot of pain. Frustration- more than a lot. Tears? More than ever before. Half the time I feel like Beyonce, strong and independent, and the other half I feel like Bridget Jones, downing vodka and screaming "all by myself" at the top of my lungs. I've been left, not only in a state of confusion but a state of hurt. And it's all down to the one factor of my break up that I can't deal with. The worst  thing about my break up. My ex stopped loving me. Okay, okay, that sounds extreme. He "had doubts". His feelings for me were unclear, he didn't know how he felt or if he loved me. For me, that was enough and I left the relationship- because I deserve someone who is 100% about me, right? Anyway. I was left feeling all the things you would normally feel after a break up, but w...

Travel bucket list

Image
So far, my experience of the world has been quite limited. I have only had a passport since I was 15 and since then I have been to Menorca, Amsterdam three times and Barcelona. So, as you would expect, my bucket list of places to travel to is quite extensive! I thought I'd share my top locations with you here though! 1) Fiji . No idea why but it's just somewhere I have always  wanted to go!  2) Bora Bora. Do I really need to explain that one? 3) Australia. Despite the scary big spiders and poisonous creatures, there is still kangaroos and koalas, white sand and blue oceans...just beautiful. Paris. Not as exotic as the others but it's meant to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world!  Florence. It is my namesake city, after all! California. Hot sunny beaches, fab shopping opportunities and hot guys surfing the waves...yes please! Norway. A little on the cold side for my liking but  I a...

Rise of the Superstar Vloggers

Image
On Monday 1st of February, BBC 3 aired a greatly anticipated documentary, "Rise of the Superstar Vloggers", presented by vlogging king, Jim Chapman. The idea of the documentary was to explore the concept of vlogging, where it started, what goes on behind the scenes and what lies ahead for vlogging in the future. As a teeny tiny YouTuber looking to restart my channel and a full on blogger, this documentary appealed to me greatly. So. What came out of this documentary? The good. It was great that the world of vlogging was getting some "serious" coverage, rather than being featured in a gossip magazine or being slagged off on some corner of the internet. Finally there was experts involved, analysing this world's love for YouTube, what can come from something as simple as vlogging. There was some insight into the side effects of vlogging, both the good and the bad that comes out of vlogging and so on which was interesting to see too.  It also show...

My style inspirations

Image
Since I started blogging, just over 18 months ago now (!), I have found myself immersed in people who live and breathe fashion. At first I didn't pay it much attention, being what I would call a lifestyle blogger, but I have noticed that my taste in clothing and my personal style has majorly improved and developed since being influenced by these bloggers. It's even encouraged me to do something I have never really done before, and that's looking at celebrities for style inspiration. Some days, I dress like a glamour puss and some days, I dress like a hood rat. There's not really an in between so my inspirations do vary...but here are the celebs who inspire my style the most! Marina Diamandis (aka Marina and the Diamonds).  Whether its from her Family Jewels, Electra Heart or her Froot stage, her style has always been impeccable, adventurous and unique. Even in the most tomboyish of outfits, she'll add a feminine touch such as a splash ...
