THAT Innocent tweet

Image
Last night, people anxiously sat at home, wondering what fate had in store for them. Of course, it was A Level Results Eve! Teenagers across the country who had spent the last two years of their life studying and working hard to obtain a certain set of exam results had approximately 12 hours left before they found out how they'd done- and their fate was sealed. It was at this time that popular drinks company, Innocent Smoothies, decided to make a joke that a number of people took in an oh so serious way- myself included. Here's the tweet: If anyone is worrying about their #ALevelResults tomorrow, remember there’s always a career in social media to fall back on. — innocent drinks (@innocent) 17 August 2016 Now, as an individual who works in the social media industry, this did irk me. Yes, I can understand that it's meant to be a joke and meant to be something lighthearted to put a smile on the strained and stressed teens of the UK but, really? Let me tel...

Are GCSE's worth the stress?

Four years ago today was my last day of Year 11 before I broke up for 'study leave' aka a clump of GCSE's and then my three month long summer. It was also my Year 11 prom- four years has just completely flown by!  So much has happened to me in the last four years in terms of my education and my career- all things that I literally never expected to happen. I didn't get any  of my predicted grades but I got nothing below a C, and even achieved a C in my maths, something no one thought I would ever be able to do, so that was really something. I was able to do nearly all of the A Levels of my choice, except Psychology due to a C in Science, not a B *sigh* but this turned o...

Results Day!

Results day has rolled around once more, and social media sites are live with the buzzing of anxious students, dreading the day, spreading rumours about impossible grade boundaries, and making jokes about how to deal with their future when they fail- which every student is deeming to be the inevitable. I laugh at them now, but I know how they're feeling and what they're going through. This time last year, I was going through the same thing. I even wrote a blog post about my feelings- i t was my first ever blog post and it conveyed my own nerves about my results. However, looking back on the year I've had since then, and how little impact my results have had on my life so far, I wanted to take this opportunity to reassure everybody who is panicking right now about what their future holds. Relax. Breathe. It will all be okay! AS Levels. When I started A Levels, someone said to me "Don't even bother with AS results Flo- everyone f*cks them up and then gets A...
