Problems with being in an LTR

I have been with my significant other for over five years now- that is over half a decade  and, in short, an incredibly long time. We've been through our up's and down's, good times and bad and made plenty of memories that I will treasure for a life time. In all honesty, I wouldn't change my relationship for the world. My other half may not be perfect, be neither am I- who is? However, being in a long term relationship (LTR) does come with it's problems, and I'm not talking partner-based problems either. Here's what I struggle with in my LTR... 1) Relationship status. They're your best friend, other half, soul mate and every other term you want to use in the book. They're everything . The word 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend' simply doesn't cover it...it sounds so immature, like you're 14 and going on your first dates still. But what does work...partner? Significant other? It's just such a dilemma! Also on job applications, ...

I'll take the bitchy look sundae, with an extra scoop of drama and a sprinkle of rumors to go...

Girls. Why can't we just get along? I can't remember a time in my life where I haven't witnessed, been mixed up in or been a shoulder to cry on for someone who's been mixed up in a messy friendship gone wrong. It seems to happen all to often, and whereas with boys, everything is over with and forgotten about once a few punches have been thrown, girls will drag an issue out for as long as they can, twisting it up, becoming more spiteful and worsening the situation in any way that they can the longer the problem goes on for. Why do we do this to each other?! I can guarantee that most of you reading this now will have been involved in some form of friendship drama or another at least once in your life. We all know how painful it can be, how difficult it can make things at school or at work, so why do we still not know any better? Why do we still find a thrill in feeding off the latest drama, getting all the gossip and participating in someone else's business, usu...

What going to an all girl's secondary school taught me...

Older people will tell you to savor high school, as it will be the best time of your life. Young adults will tell you that high school is like hell. It is safe to say that I agree with both of the statements. Whilst some of my best memories did occur during my time at secondary school, and whilst I met a couple of special people, it was also absolute hell. This was mainly down to the fact that the secondary school I attended was an all girl's school. As if growing up and going through the hardships a teenager does wasn't bad enough, doing it surrounded by 1000 other teenage girls equally as hormonal and emotional as you makes it doubly bad. However, I can't deny that the whole experience was a complete learning curve that has shaped the person I am today entirely, and I wouldn't redo my secondary school experience elsewhere for that reason. So, what did growing up with about 1000 other teenage girls for seven years teach me? Read on to find out... 1. Your best f...

Relationships- a learning curve!

I am just 19, and am currently in a wonderful relationship with my boyfriend- and have been for nearly 5 years now. When we first started "going out" aged just 14, I'm pretty sure that neither one of us had imagined that we would spend the rest of our teenage years together, not only growing up as an individual person, but growing and changing as a partnership too. When we first started dating, it was pretty unusual for couples to last as long as we did- of course it was, we were 14/15! However, whenever I'm browsing (aka stalking) through social media pages of people a few years younger than me, I can't help but notice that it's becoming more and more common for couples of a very young age to "go out" for a matter of years. This surprised me, and then it inspired me to write a post, listing all the things that I learnt throughout my teenage years whilst in a long term relationship and how it effected both me and my boyfriend. Whether you're in...
