Let's drop the C-Bomb...

Image
I'm going to drop the dreaded C-bomb right about now... ...no, not that one! I'm talking about Christmas  of course! I know, I know, it's still five months away (anyone else counting?) but it's honestly time to start preparing- trust me!  At Christmas, I go big. I mean, really big. I spent nearly £1,000 on presents last year, and given that at that time I was working an eight hour contract with some Christmas over time and had only just started freelancing, that was a big deal for me. I suppose it doesn't help that both of my sisters, my mum and my dad's girlfriend all have birthday's around Christmas too, so I have a lot to fork out for! It honestly doesn't phase me though because I absolutely adore  buying people gifts. I get so excited about giving them out and seeing the look on people's faces. I'm a bit of a pro at buying perfect presents, if I do say so myself.  So this year, I've done myself a favour. Rather than do ...

Confessions of a shopaholic

Image
Without being too stereotypical or sexist...all girls love to shop , right? Well, I know that I definitely love to shop. More so as I've become single and now have more money to spend on myself and not someone else! I also love the feeling of treating myself, of knowing how much overtime I've done at work so what extra bits I can afford here and there. I love hearing the postman knock, getting a dispatch email, photographing new products...it's all just an amazing experience. If you're a shopaholic like me, you'll get what I'm saying. And you might just relate to some of these thoughts and feelings too... You get lots of post. But most of it is those annoying cards telling you how many mere minutes you missed your postman by and that you can't get your parcel until tomorrow, where you will no doubt miss it again. Nothing makes you happier than wearing new clothes for the first time. You get to create new outfits, show off your cloth...

Summer bedroom makeover!

Image
Despite yesterday/last night's storm, the last couple of days have been super sunny and...dare I say it...warm! It got me feeling all of those summer feels ...and so I went to Primark and decided to give my room a summer make over, raiding the home section like a crazed woman.Today I cleared out all of the pastel-y, floral-y, girly bits and pieces, put them to storage and replaced them with bright, tropical , summery bits! Now, even when it rains, I'll feel all the summer vibes .  This post will be a little photo heavy, but I thought I'd share with you all of the bits I got and what they look like- I will try to put in prices where I can! DUVET COVER-  Primark, £9. CUSHIONS- Primark, varying from £1-£8. This giant cushion was the first thing I spotted- everything was built around this because I loved it so much! THROW- Primark, can't remember the price! The perfect way to conceal my sisters Justin Bi...

Working in retail!

Most of us will work in retail for a short portion of our life- some for a lot longer! Whilst I love working in retail there are a few annoyances and lessons that I have learnt over time- and I'm sure my fellow retail employees will agree! Have a read of the list and see if any of your wind ups match mine! The sale rail mess. Just because things are reduced doesn't mean you can treat them like total rubbish, chucking them over the rail, dropping them on the floor, stealing hangers but not the clothes (????) , and just generally making the rail a pig sty. The general shop mess. Is it really  so hard to put items back in the same place that you found them, on the same hanger, in the same department? The sparkly dress quite clearly doesn't belong on a jacket hanger in the knitwear section. It's not difficult and doesn't require much effort. Pull something out to look at it, if you like it, great, take it. If you don't, JUST PUT IT BACK! And when you do put it...
