My favourite YouTubers!

Image
I love to binge watch YouTube! I can start watching with the intention of only looking at one video, and then suddenly I'm in deep, finding new vloggers and channels, watching weird videos...I don't know how, it just happens! Of course, I love the big ones like the Saccone-Joly's (I watch them every day without fail!) and Louise Pentland (formerly Sprinkle of Glitter) but there are some other, less known channels I adore that I want to share with you guys today! WhatLydDid Lydia is just an amazing person as it is, but I love her YouTube channel! She is honest about everything, from the moment she felt like she wasn't good enough to YouTube to the moment she gave her brutally honest opinion on some of the snacks she'd been eating! What's even better about her channel is that it's still relatively new, so you can quite clearly see her progression between videos- as a friend, its a real joy to watch her continuously get better at what she is so passion...

RE-STARTING YOUTUBE!

Image
Exactly one year and one day ago I pressed publish on my last YouTube video. I only made six videos and none of them were particularly spectacular, but for the short time that I was creating this content, I really enjoyed myself. Yesterday, I was having a conversation with my youngest sister about how much I missed performing on stage. When I was younger, I played a variety of instruments and performed at numerous locations, both in competitions and for fun, playing music for crowds that varied from being as small as the school hall to as large as the Royal Albert Hall. The feeling performing gave me was unlike anything else. When I did my TV  presenting work and whilst I was a radio presenter, I had that same feeling, and so naturally I came to the conclusion that I just love giving something back to a large audience- playing them songs, performing or simply just chatting. I love it all. And whilst writing is my true love, presenting/performing comes a pretty close secon...

#InternetFriendDay

Image
Today is #InternetFriendDay and this is a day that means a lot to me! I have built a career on the internet and through that I have made the most wonderful friends because of it. This is a concept that can be a little hard for people to get their heads around. As children we are told over and over not to share personal details over the internet, not to speak to people we don't know for fear that they may not be who they say they are.  And hey, I guess there is still that risk. Of course there is. You can be anyone you want to be on the internet. However, it's not all bad news any more. Now that there is a growth in online activities such as blogging and vlogging, strangers from all over the world can connect via the mere touch of a button and friendships are formed.  Whilst many still envision a creepy old man sat in a dark room befriending naive individuals across the internet, this is not the only kind of person socialising across the internet now- almos...

Rise of the Superstar Vloggers

Image
On Monday 1st of February, BBC 3 aired a greatly anticipated documentary, "Rise of the Superstar Vloggers", presented by vlogging king, Jim Chapman. The idea of the documentary was to explore the concept of vlogging, where it started, what goes on behind the scenes and what lies ahead for vlogging in the future. As a teeny tiny YouTuber looking to restart my channel and a full on blogger, this documentary appealed to me greatly. So. What came out of this documentary? The good. It was great that the world of vlogging was getting some "serious" coverage, rather than being featured in a gossip magazine or being slagged off on some corner of the internet. Finally there was experts involved, analysing this world's love for YouTube, what can come from something as simple as vlogging. There was some insight into the side effects of vlogging, both the good and the bad that comes out of vlogging and so on which was interesting to see too.  It also show...
