Seven reasons cats are better than people

Seven reasons cats are better than people If 2016 has taught me anything, its that people suck . Like, really, really suck. As a pet owner, I've come to realize that my cats- and cats generally- are far better than people. Here's seven reasons why. You don't need to share your food with them They might try to steal your food for their own but they never actually eat it, unlike humans who will always try and steal your food from you!   Cats don't have two faces Cats make their feelings for you obvious all the time. If they don't like you, you'll know about it. They'll give you a quick scratch and tell you to fuck off if they don't want you around. They don't pretend to like you and then leave! They let you dress them up And let's not lie, we all have that friend we'd love to give a huge makeover but just wouldn't be able to, right? Well cats don't really have the ability to stop you from putting them in hilarious ...

FELINE FRIDAYS #5 Are kittens babies in disguise?

Image
It sounds like an odd thought but I am being genuinely serious when I ask...are kittens babies in disguise? Since getting Elsie and Doris I have legitimately felt like I have two babies. Cleaning up their poo and wee (although not as often as my poor mum!), being woken up by them in the middle of the night, having them stop me from watching TV or using my laptop by distracting me and/or getting in the way, needing feeding at set times of the day, crying when you don't do exactly what they want you to do... do you see where I'm going with this? In addition to being super demanding of all of our time and attention, the fur babies also like to be carried...everywhere. If they don't need to walk because one of us is available to carry them, they'll be carried.  They also know how to get your attention if you're busy. Lying in bed on your phone? Let's head butt that hand until she put's the phone down. Did you want to type something? Let m...

FELINE FRIDAYS #3: Poor little Doris.

Image
It's Friday so that means one thing...another FELINE FRIDAY post! Today's post is a follow on from last weeks, where I was discussing the odd behaviour of the cats and whether this meant that they were on heat.  Well. My mum went to the vets to discuss the behaviour of our little fur babies with some professionals and it turns out that yes, they are on heat- or Doris is, at least! Over the last week since then it's been very on and off. Elsie hasn't been too affected by it, and we're just waiting for the day when she suddenly starts craving...well. Boys! Doris however... Well, she's nuts! She won't stop wriggling around on her belly, writhing on the floor like a snake. She likes to rub her head on things too, particularly bags and shoes. She lingers by windows and back doors, clearly desperate to go outside and yet we can't let her because she hasn't been spayed yet- but when we take her out on her lead, she freaks and wants ...

FELINE FRIDAYS #2: On Heat?

Image
It's Friday and that means its the next instalment of my newest series, FELINE FRIDAYS.  Today, I'm reaching out to my fellow cat lovers with a problem I have with my kittens. They are just under one year old now, in fact, they're exactly eleven months old tomorrow, and recently they've been acting a bit...well, strange. Especially Doris!  They've stopped eating properly. Whilst they will still eat, we will sometimes put a bowl of food down for breakfast and by 10pm its still there, untouched! They have begun wriggling around on their bellies, head butting bags and shoes (and only  bags and shoes, bizarre right?) and yowling over and over, sometimes very loudly- and they were not very chatty cats before! The only conclusion we were able to reach is that they must be 'on heat'. But is this possible before they're even one yet? It seems to be the answer, as it lasts for a few days, disappears and then comes back again, and apparent...

FELINE FRIDAYS #1

I wanted to start a 'series' on my blog recently but had absolutely no inspiration as to what I could do. It wasn't until I whipped my laptop out this morning to write today's blog post and had one of my two fur babies flop across the keyboard, as per, in order to prevent me from writing that I had a lightbulb moment. I should do a cat series!  I write about my cats quite often on Twitter and share images on my Instagram of them too. My sister (embarrassingly) made them their own Instagram account too, which has actually had pictures taken from for larger Instagram cat accounts! Of course, my series needed a name, and as it's Friday, Feline Friday just seemed to work!  So here's the introductory post to the new series, FELINE FRIDAY. Today I shall introduce you to my two little fur babies, Doris and Elsie.  They were born sometime around the end of June (not exactly sure, I shall have to check that with my sister!) and belonged to my mums fr...

10 reasons to love cats!

Image
I was always a dog person. I loved- and still do love- dogs. They're so playful and friendly and love cuddles, even when they're far too big for cuddles!  Then my mum got two kittens. I can hand on heart say I am a converted cat person. Even if I have the worst day of my life, I can guarantee those kittens will make me smile at least once. So here's a list of why I now love cats! Ten reasons I love cats: 1) They think that you're God because you provide for them but think they're an even higher form of God who still rules over you.  2) They think that a human face is an appropriate seat. Along with the laptop, but only when in use, pillows, but only when you want to sleep and the chair you might want to sit down on to eat your dinner. 3) They love you so much they allow you to dress them up in stupid costumes and accessories even though they hate it. 4) They have a special sense when humans are sad and allow themselves to...
