Very Inspiring Blogger Award

It never fails to make me smile when I get nominated for a bloggers award out of the blue, and it never fails to make me smile when I am called an inspiration- making my nomination for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award from A Blogs Life one that made me overly happy indeed! A Blogs Life is a very unique styled blog, and the only one of it's kind that I follow- it is run by all the family, which I think is incredibly sweet! So thank you to the whole lot of you for nominating me- I appreciate it more than you know! The Rules 1) After being nominated, write a post, starting off with a mention of the blogger who nominated you, as a small thank you to them! 2) Have a bit of fun and come up with seven facts about yourself.  3) Nominate 15 bloggers that inspire you for the award! The problem with being nominated for bloggers awards, is that they nearly always ask you for facts about yourself! On top of this, I recently did a post named "50 facts about me" ...

Beyonce- Still Flawless

The unthinkable has happened. Photos of un-airbrushed Beyonce have leaked online. Kim Kardashian tried to break the internet with her behind, but Beyonce has caused a break down- with her face. Fans from the Beyhive went into meltdown when over 200 photos, which had allegedly been untouched, appeared online. Not only did they jump to Queen B's defence immediately, claiming the photos to be fakes, they also sent hate to the people who had sourced the photos and shared them with the world, forcing them to be removed. If you thought you could get away with insulting the Queen, you were sorely mistaken. Me, however. I could not care less about photos of Beyonce and how airbrushed they are or not. In my opinion, photoshop is a thing of the devil. It edits celebrities beyond recognition half of the time and creates unrealistic expectations for women to set their sights on, often leading to damaged self esteems, especially in teenagers, as well as mental health problems and eating dis...

What going to an all girl's secondary school taught me...

Older people will tell you to savor high school, as it will be the best time of your life. Young adults will tell you that high school is like hell. It is safe to say that I agree with both of the statements. Whilst some of my best memories did occur during my time at secondary school, and whilst I met a couple of special people, it was also absolute hell. This was mainly down to the fact that the secondary school I attended was an all girl's school. As if growing up and going through the hardships a teenager does wasn't bad enough, doing it surrounded by 1000 other teenage girls equally as hormonal and emotional as you makes it doubly bad. However, I can't deny that the whole experience was a complete learning curve that has shaped the person I am today entirely, and I wouldn't redo my secondary school experience elsewhere for that reason. So, what did growing up with about 1000 other teenage girls for seven years teach me? Read on to find out... 1. Your best f...

Make Up Revolution- Mini Haul!

Image
I've never really been one of those girls who is really into make up. Usually I'd just stick some mascara on, a bit of eyeliner if I was going somewhere special and that was about it. Make up was difficult to make look good and, above any other reason not to wear it, was expensive. I'd rather spend £8 on a cinema ticket or a nice top rather than on mascara or lip gloss.  Then one day I came across Make Up Revolution.  Little did I know, I had actually brought a palette from them before, a year or so ago, but the case had been unbranded and so I had no idea who it was made by. For £6 though, it was a bargain, and a good palette at that, so I started to wear different eye-shadows in different ways every single day. It wasn't until Make Up Revolution followed me on twitter and I had had a little peruse through their website that I discovered that the miracle palette had come from them! It didn't take much else to persuade me to go on a mini shopping spree. With ...

Relationships- a learning curve!

I am just 19, and am currently in a wonderful relationship with my boyfriend- and have been for nearly 5 years now. When we first started "going out" aged just 14, I'm pretty sure that neither one of us had imagined that we would spend the rest of our teenage years together, not only growing up as an individual person, but growing and changing as a partnership too. When we first started dating, it was pretty unusual for couples to last as long as we did- of course it was, we were 14/15! However, whenever I'm browsing (aka stalking) through social media pages of people a few years younger than me, I can't help but notice that it's becoming more and more common for couples of a very young age to "go out" for a matter of years. This surprised me, and then it inspired me to write a post, listing all the things that I learnt throughout my teenage years whilst in a long term relationship and how it effected both me and my boyfriend. Whether you're in...

50 Shades of Eve-Yasmine!

So, unless you've been living under a rock for the last year, you'll have heard all about the controversial series of novels- and now, an even more controversial film- 50 Shades of Grey. Raising questions as to whether the relationship between the two main characters is a healthy one and inviting people into a new world of sensuality and sex toys/positions you would never even have imagined, the series has caught the attention of anyone and everyone. To me, the parts of the books I did read were dull, and for now my feminist self has decided to boycott the movie too. However, I cannot deny the amazing  soundtrack that has been created for the movie. Featuring artists such as Ellie Goulding, Sia and The Weeknd, the album hosts a great variety of music. The most enchanting song has to be Queen B's latest version of 'Crazy in Love'. Slowed right down, the song has a whole new sensual take, fitting for the month of love and the 'romantic' film. I must admit,...

Dream, Believe, Achieve- Working for what you want.

Back in July, if someone had said to me "Flo, in six months time, you'll have your own radio show", I never would have believed them. Nor would I have believed that I would be a blogger, a columnist or have started my own mini gift line- I definitely wouldn't have believed I would be more well known as 'Florence' than 'Flo'! Everything I have achieved in just six months is really quite unbelievable, and I wouldn't have believed it coming from anyone. So often I have people asking me how I managed to do this, how I managed to make time for that, how did I get all of the lucky opportunities that I have had? I'm always telling people the same few facts about how to get to where you want to be, so I thought I would share them on a wider platform to help out and maybe even inspire more people who feel as though they're not quite sure about what they're doing with their life. Don't worry, you aren't the only one- six months ago I ...
