DEVON DAY 1

Image
So here it is, Devon day 1! Whilst today is Wednesday, I am posting about yesterday, and it will be like that for the rest of the week...so I will always be a day behind, if that makes sense! So, let's talk about Tuesday the 21st June.  We were scheduled to set off from Aylesbury to Devon at 9am, aiming to get to Devon at about 1pm. As it happens, we didn't leave Aylesbury until 10pm and arrived at 4pm- that's an additional two hours to our original journey plan! However, an hour of this was due to an unexpected stop for lunch at a service station because we all realised that a) we would really  like to stretch our legs and b) we were all starving. At the service station I tried my first ever Papa John's pizza and it was truly incredible- even better than Domino's! However, the highlight for me was definitely being given a 2002 style mobile phone buzzer so you could place your order, go shopping and then come back when your buzzer went off! This excited me probabl...

English holidays...

As I posted about very  briefly last night, I'm off on holiday today! I am literally so excited I can't even begin to tell you! Having never been on holiday with friends before I'm just happy to get away from my home town and spend six days on the trot with my best friends, who I normally see once or twice a month! We're going to Devon and whilst this isn't an issue, the issue is that it's in England. I have absolutely no idea what to take on an English holiday with me! We all know what British weather is like, especially within the last couple of weeks, it's all sunshine and warmth one minute followed by a torrential downpour the next! So do I take jeans and jumpers? Bralets and shorts? A healthy mix of both? I genuinely couldn't decide. So what happened as a result of this? I took a whole drawer full of clothes. I have about 12 complete outfits and then 1,000 other fragmented items of clothing that are interchangeable with said outfits 'just ...

Just an update...

Hi guys! I must apologise in advance because this is going to be a crappy blog post but I just wanted to keep you guys in the loop! If you didn't already know, I'm off on holiday with my best pals this week, yay! I'm planning on having a totally relaxing week and not working at all . However, I will still be daily blogging- I will either be getting my sister to guest post for me (but is that cheating?!) or I will be whipping up a "photo diary" style post, full of the photo's from each day of my holiday! I'm sorry that this week the posts aren't going to be tip top, or very interesting to read compared to some of my usual posts, but everyone needs a break and daily blogging is hard okay! I hope you have a great week and I will see you on the other side of my holiday! Love from, Florence Grace

Don't you know that you're toxic?

Image
No, I'm not just quoting a Britney Spears song.  I'm genuinely asking the question "Don't you know that you're toxic?" It's a genuine question that I wish I had the effort to ask to so many people.  I know far too many people who bring nothing positive to my life. No meaning, nothing special, nothing worthwhile. They bring stress, pain, drama, negativity. Combine that all together and you have toxic .  So if I feel this way about so many people, why haven't I asked them exactly why they behave in this way? Well, I'll tell you the simple truth of the matter- I can not be bothered. Really, well and truly can't be bothered.  I'm 20 years old now. I left school two years ago. I had hoped that the nasty, bitter behaviour I encountered so much in school would be left behind with education, but I could not have been more wrong. Apparently, not everyone grows up when they leave school. Apparently life continues just the s...

The benefits of drinking water

Image
Health guidelines say that it is important to drink 8 glasses of water every day- or, alternatively, 2 litres. Now I know that I definitely do not drink this much water- in fact, it's a miracle if I even have one glass of water, despite it being all that I really drink. This often leads to a lot of negative side affects such as headaches due to dehydration. Recently though, I have started to try and drink more water than I normally do, managing to get in about one 500ml bottle and 2 glasses of water a day. I've noticed the benefit's of doing this already, and whilst the benefits of drinking more water are pretty commonly known, I thought I'd just remind you of them in case you too needed a little prompt to drink a bit more... Keeps you hydrated. This is obvious, I know, but being dehydrated is so bad for your body. It's important that your body has enough water in it so that it can function properly.  Clears your skin. If you find that you h...

FELINE FRIDAYS #5 Are kittens babies in disguise?

Image
It sounds like an odd thought but I am being genuinely serious when I ask...are kittens babies in disguise? Since getting Elsie and Doris I have legitimately felt like I have two babies. Cleaning up their poo and wee (although not as often as my poor mum!), being woken up by them in the middle of the night, having them stop me from watching TV or using my laptop by distracting me and/or getting in the way, needing feeding at set times of the day, crying when you don't do exactly what they want you to do... do you see where I'm going with this? In addition to being super demanding of all of our time and attention, the fur babies also like to be carried...everywhere. If they don't need to walk because one of us is available to carry them, they'll be carried.  They also know how to get your attention if you're busy. Lying in bed on your phone? Let's head butt that hand until she put's the phone down. Did you want to type something? Let m...

Self Care

Image
Today's post is very positive- a drastic change from some of the posts I've written recently! Today I'm talking about self care.  I've never been massive on self care. I mean, I look after myself. I eat, I sleep, I socialise, I keep clean. But it's not until I made some changes to my lifestyle recently that I realised, actually, I hadn't really been looking after myself at all. At least, not as well as I should have been.  Here's some changes I made at the start of 2016, when I was left in a pretty bleak place and wanted to feel better: - I slept for at least 8 hours. - I blogged daily, being totally honest about my feelings and emotions and my feelings towards myself.  - I made an effort to have a better social life. And to be honest, that was about it. And whilst I definitely became happier as a person, it's not until literally the last week  that I've started to feel...well. Amazing, really!  So what happened? ...
