Reacting to rumours

We've all had rumours spread about us, from the small menial one's that make you laugh, to the larger, more reputation damaging ones that really screw us over and make us mad. Rumours are something that happen to me quite a lot- which is surprising considering I'm so open about almost all of my life- and it's now got to the point where I really do have to just shrug it off. But internally, I'm doing an entirely different reaction. I'm tearing my hair out, rolling my eyes and sighing louder than a klaxon. Here's some of my most frequent reactions to rumours...


Hysterical laughing at the ridiculousness of the rumour.

Slightly less hysterical laughing because the rumour is annoying, but still pretty funny.




Laughing and suddenly choking on your own giggles when you realise how unfunny this rumour is.



Sighing deeply as everyone but you enjoys this rumour.

The eye roll. Brought out for when the rumour is so dumb you 'can't even'.

The sigh. Because this rumour isn't new and is far from original.

Children With Cancer UK Fashion Show!

Friday 27th February 2015 saw the grand event that was a fashion show in London for the fabulous charity, Children with Cancer UK. I was invited to the event about 2 weeks ago as a blogger, to cover the event and raise awareness of the charity. I was honored to have been asked to do so, as the charity is really just so important, as well as super excited to cover a fashion show, as this was something I had never done before! The night was a huge success, and the display of talent was extremely impressive- from the designers work, to the various acts performing in between! #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek - Body Image and Mental Health

This week (13th - 20th May 2019) is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year, the theme is Body Image - how we think and feel about our bodies.  Those of you who have followed me for some time will know that for about two years now, if not more, I have been an advocate for body positivity and self love. More recently, you may have seen me featured in a story in The Metro , talking about a body shaming incident I experienced on holiday and how I dealt with it.  There's absolutely no denying that there is a direct correlation between body image and our mental health. I know that personally, when I'm experiencing a "bad body day" and don't feel very positively about my body, for whatever reason, my mental health goes down the drain too. Yet when we feel good about our bodies, this can be reflected in our mental health too.  When I experienced body shaming in my bikini on holiday, I felt the lowest I had in a while. Eating Disorders- the Blunt Truth.

WARNING:  The following content is sensitive and me be triggering to those suffering from, recovering from or who have recovered from eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia and other health problems such as depression. As I sit down in my local pub ready to tuck into my generous portion of gammon and chips, I feel a prickle on the back of my neck- that all to familiar feeling of knowing that someone is staring at you. As I whip my head around the dining area, my eyes fall on the slender figure of a girl, probably around my age, maybe a few years younger, looking at me with disgust in her eyes- disgust clearly at the way I look and what I'm eating. I feel fat, bulky, uncomfortable and I let my glance fall to her own plate, noticing she has a salad, mostly untouched. She sips constantly at her water like it's the only thing keeping her alive.
