Things that happen when everyone is drunk but you.

Nights out can be amazingly fun. Sober nights out, well, a little less. Not because you need alocohol to have a good time, because you don't, but more because you're exposed to the damn right stupid behaviour of drunk people that you yourself also participate in when you get drunk...and boy does it make you feel ashamed, and...well. Embarrassed! If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a list of things that happen when everyone is drunk but you...

1) Jaw dropping. Seriously, is that how I look when I dance? I look like that? God help me I am never drinking a shot again.

2) Cringing. When your friend tries to move like Beyonce, when you see how lame some of the boys making moves are, when you hear a song sober and realise how crap it is now that you aren't drunk and up for a dance...

3) You have to save your friend. From falling over, from unwelcome hands, from leaving her drink behind, from an accidental nip slip...you pretty much have to pull the strings as though they're your puppet in order to keep them going for the night.

4) You notice how gross club toilets are. Seriously, I normally pee in here? For goodness sake!

5) You finally hear first hand some of the dumb things drunk people say. "I'm really okay...but can someone help me?" says a drunk girl as she's lifted away wrapped in that foil stuff by paramedics. 





6) You realise just how much skin 90% of girls show. It's a lot more than you realised...better have a wardrobe clear out.

7) You notice just how many old men are acting randy in the club and peering at girls over half their age. That is just so sick. Isn't there some kind of rule against this? Its gross to watch.

Children With Cancer UK Fashion Show!

Friday 27th February 2015 saw the grand event that was a fashion show in London for the fabulous charity, Children with Cancer UK. I was invited to the event about 2 weeks ago as a blogger, to cover the event and raise awareness of the charity. I was honored to have been asked to do so, as the charity is really just so important, as well as super excited to cover a fashion show, as this was something I had never done before! The night was a huge success, and the display of talent was extremely impressive- from the designers work, to the various acts performing in between! The venue was fairly glamorous, based at The Building Centre in London, and upon entry we received glasses of wine, nibbles and goody bags, as well as having the opportunity to mingle with some of the other guests before the show began. This week (13th - 20th May 2019) is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year, the theme is Body Image - how we think and feel about our bodies.  Those of you who have followed me for some time will know that for about two years now, if not more, I have been an advocate for body positivity and self love. More recently, you may have seen me featured in a story in The Metro , talking about a body shaming incident I experienced on holiday and how I dealt with it.  There's absolutely no denying that there is a direct correlation between body image and our mental health. I know that personally, when I'm experiencing a "bad body day" and don't feel very positively about my body, for whatever reason, my mental health goes down the drain too. Yet when we feel good about our bodies, this can be reflected in our mental health too.  When I experienced body shaming in my bikini on holiday, I felt the lowest I had in a while. Eating Disorders- the Blunt Truth.

WARNING:  The following content is sensitive and me be triggering to those suffering from, recovering from or who have recovered from eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia and other health problems such as depression. As I sit down in my local pub ready to tuck into my generous portion of gammon and chips, I feel a prickle on the back of my neck- that all to familiar feeling of knowing that someone is staring at you. As I whip my head around the dining area, my eyes fall on the slender figure of a girl, probably around my age, maybe a few years younger, looking at me with disgust in her eyes- disgust clearly at the way I look and what I'm eating. I feel fat, bulky, uncomfortable and I let my glance fall to her own plate, noticing she has a salad, mostly untouched. She sips constantly at her water like it's the only thing keeping her alive.
