Scents for the Summer*

Image
I'm a big perfume fan. I own more perfumes, body mists and sprays, fragrances and eau de toilets than I can count (or even remember!) and I spritz myself from head to toe multiple times a day to make sure that I'm always smelling fabulous! Sadly for me, my taste is expensive - Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors are three of my go to's, with Chanel Gabrielle  being a firm favourite of mine. Marc Jacobs perfume is always a winner in my eyes due to it's gorgeous bottle design, and more recently I decided that Honey  was going to be my scent of the summer. It's light, sweet but not too sickly and I fell in love from the very first spritz. I thought that I was dead set on that being my scent of the summer, the one that would take me through the muggy days to make me feel fresh, the rainy days to make me feel sunnier - and then I came across an amazing collection of summer perfumes  on Clive Christian.  Initially, I was looking for some aftershave for my dad, wh...

Saying goodbye to summer

Image
So I did have a really good blog post planned for today and then life got in the way, I had a hectic evening and I've only now just had the chance to sit down and write out a blog post. So there's been a slight change of plan on content for today's post but hey, it can't be helped!  As I mentioned previously on Twitter (I'm not sure if I mentioned it on my blog), I'm starting a new series on my blog as of tomorrow that will run throughout September. This will be #SeptemberStudies! Every year I write a post that is pretty similar in content about going back to school and revision tips etc, so this year I'm doing it differently. I have posts for every single day, all about the do's and dont's of revision, what you need to have in your school bag, dealing with bullies, balancing work and school and so much more! I've planned out every post and can't wait to share them with you all, as I know a lot of you are at school/college/uni.  ...

BRIGHTON!

Image
My apologies that today's post is  so  late, but I have only just got in from an amazing yet very long and draining day out to Brighton! Because it's late and I'm sure many of you won't want to read much at this time of night, I'm going to make this a very photo based post but let me chat a little bit about the day! I had never been to Brighton before but everyone  bigs it up and says how great it is, so I was beyond excited to go! My excitement only increased when in the morning I found out Sprinkle of Glitter was going to Brighton to see Zoella- although sadly, I didn't end up seeing them! Whilst Brighton really was a lovely place with some adorable shops in the Lanes, a fab pier filled with fairground rides and some excellent eateries, I don't think it's as special as everyone makes out. I still had a perfect day with my mum, sister and best friend Alec, don't get me wrong, and I'd definitely go back again- it's just different from...

HEAT ANGER

Image
After what seems like an incredibly long day, I have finally  got to sit down to have some relaxing time- for about an hour before I have to go to bed. I'm irritated because the heat slowed me down today. It took me three hours  to write one article earlier on, and therefore I haven't been able to work out today. It's incredibly frustrating for me.  However, I have been offered another social media position, so I can add that to my list of things to do. I now have seven  jobs (two of them unpaid), not including running my magazine and daily blogging too. Now I'm wondering if I should class one of those jobs as "freelance content creator" and take my jobs down to 4 by grouping them? It seems ridiculous to say I work seven jobs!  It might sound crazy to work so much but I love  being busy, I'm incredibly passionate about what I do and    on top of all that, I know that all of the work is taking me to where I want to end up. I'm maki...

Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC)!

Image
Boy am I exhausted!  As you know, I went to Wireless festival yesterday- it was such  a good day, but I will fill you in properly  either tomorrow or Monday, when I have the time to write out a 'proper' blog post for you all! However, what I can tell you is that it wore me right out- I ended up doing just shy of 20,000 steps, I didn't get in until 1:15 and even then I only ended up having about four hours sleep over all, ending up waking up at 8am... ...because today I'm headed to festival number 2! Yep, although I'm drained and would rather be sleeping right now, I'm off bright and early to the Electric Daisy Carnival, more commonly known as EDC. I feel as though I might pass out but hopefully once I've got some food inside of me and have woken up a little bit more I will feel more awake!  Whilst I was more colourful and flowery for Wireless, today I am all about the sparkles! Face glitter, hair glitter and gem stones too! I'm still n...

Wireless!

Image
I am mega excited because today I am going to Wireless! I have never been to any kind of festival before, big or small, so I am soooo buzzing to be going to my first one today! Of course, I have gone out in flowers and glitter full force, as though I'm in sunny America at Coachella rather than grey and gloomy London but hey ho! I've even temporarily dyed the ends of my hair pink, which looks interesting... Today Calvin Harris is headlining the festival and I can not wait to see him live! I saw him way back when I was 13 and he was amazing then. Since then, he's brought out some absolute bangers and so I am even more excited to see him this time around! There's also Anne-Marie who I adore , The 1975, Dua Lipa and loads more. I am a little concerned about the toilet situation. I hate public toilets at the best of times, but portaloo's? I genuinely would rather pee in a bush than even touch the door handles of one of those things, so that will be interesting......

Summer on a budget!

Image
When it comes to summer, we all want to be out and about doing lots of fun things, making the most of the 'nice' summer weather. However, especially if you're a student, it can be more difficult to afford fancy holidays and numerous days out. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy your summer though! Here's some things you can do this summer on a budget: 1) Bike rides. You don't need any money for this activity- just a bike! Pack a snack and a bottle of water and then off you go! You can ride anywhere and for as long as you like, soaking up the sun on your way. 2) Picnics. Whilst you might need to spend a little money, you can easily spend less than a tenner putting a picnic together, especially if you already have a lot of food in the house! Then just grab a blanket and take a stroll to a sunny spot!  3) BBQ's. Similarly to picnics, BBQ's aren't too costly, especially if you already have a BBQ at home- if not, you can...

Summer bedroom makeover!

Image
Despite yesterday/last night's storm, the last couple of days have been super sunny and...dare I say it...warm! It got me feeling all of those summer feels ...and so I went to Primark and decided to give my room a summer make over, raiding the home section like a crazed woman.Today I cleared out all of the pastel-y, floral-y, girly bits and pieces, put them to storage and replaced them with bright, tropical , summery bits! Now, even when it rains, I'll feel all the summer vibes .  This post will be a little photo heavy, but I thought I'd share with you all of the bits I got and what they look like- I will try to put in prices where I can! DUVET COVER-  Primark, £9. CUSHIONS- Primark, varying from £1-£8. This giant cushion was the first thing I spotted- everything was built around this because I loved it so much! THROW- Primark, can't remember the price! The perfect way to conceal my sisters Justin Bi...

Things I'm looking forward to about summer!

Image
Summer is on it's way- at last ! I always think that I love winter more than summer, but when it gets to this time of year and events are planned, holidays are booked, the weather gets warmer and the days get longer ...well, I just know that I'm a summer girl at heart! I've got a pretty good summer ahead of me this year, so I thought I'd share with you a list of all the things I'm looking forward to about Summer 2016 ! 1) Holiday! This year I'm going on holiday with my three best pals, BJ, Alec and Ricarda. We have hired out our own private cottage, right on the beach, and I couldn't be more excited ! Not only because I get to see my friends for five consecutive days rather than one day every other week but also because I've never been on holiday with friends before! I can't wait! 2) Gigs and festivals! Whilst I'm not camping at any festivals this year, I am attending two for one day each, and having never been to a ...
