Wireless!

I am mega excited because today I am going to Wireless! I have never been to any kind of festival before, big or small, so I am soooo buzzing to be going to my first one today! Of course, I have gone out in flowers and glitter full force, as though I'm in sunny America at Coachella rather than grey and gloomy London but hey ho! I've even temporarily dyed the ends of my hair pink, which looks interesting...

Today Calvin Harris is headlining the festival and I can not wait to see him live! I saw him way back when I was 13 and he was amazing then. Since then, he's brought out some absolute bangers and so I am even more excited to see him this time around! There's also Anne-Marie who I adore, The 1975, Dua Lipa and loads more.

I am a little concerned about the toilet situation. I hate public toilets at the best of times, but portaloo's? I genuinely would rather pee in a bush than even touch the door handles of one of those things, so that will be interesting...

I'm literally about to catch the train now, so I will have to leave it there- I know, it's another rubbishy post from me but I just have zero time today! However, make no mistake in thinking that a more detailed post on Wireless won't be coming- it will! Probably on Sunday!

Children With Cancer UK Fashion Show!

Friday 27th February 2015 saw the grand event that was a fashion show in London for the fabulous charity, Children with Cancer UK. I was invited to the event about 2 weeks ago as a blogger, to cover the event and raise awareness of the charity. I was honored to have been asked to do so, as the charity is really just so important, as well as super excited to cover a fashion show, as this was something I had never done before! The night was a huge success, and the display of talent was extremely impressive- from the designers work, to the various acts performing in between! This week (13th - 20th May 2019) is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year, the theme is Body Image - how we think and feel about our bodies.  Those of you who have followed me for some time will know that for about two years now, if not more, I have been an advocate for body positivity and self love. More recently, you may have seen me featured in a story in The Metro , talking about a body shaming incident I experienced on holiday and how I dealt with it.  There's absolutely no denying that there is a direct correlation between body image and our mental health. I know that personally, when I'm experiencing a "bad body day" and don't feel very positively about my body, for whatever reason, my mental health goes down the drain too. Yet when we feel good about our bodies, this can be reflected in our mental health too.  When I experienced body shaming in my bikini on holiday, I felt the lowest I had in a while. Eating Disorders- the Blunt Truth.

WARNING:  The following content is sensitive and me be triggering to those suffering from, recovering from or who have recovered from eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia and other health problems such as depression. As I sit down in my local pub ready to tuck into my generous portion of gammon and chips, I feel a prickle on the back of my neck- that all to familiar feeling of knowing that someone is staring at you. As I whip my head around the dining area, my eyes fall on the slender figure of a girl, probably around my age, maybe a few years younger, looking at me with disgust in her eyes- disgust clearly at the way I look and what I'm eating. I feel fat, bulky, uncomfortable and I let my glance fall to her own plate, noticing she has a salad, mostly untouched. She sips constantly at her water like it's the only thing keeping her alive.
