Writing a book!

So this is my second daily blog post...so far, so good right? I've had a bit of a frustrating day today, people have just been grating on me. You know when people are so bad at what they do, and they just have one simple thing to do? Yeah, I've encountered a lot of that today. I've also dealt with a lot of annoying customers at work today...is it so hard to put a coat back on a coat hanger rather than draping it over the rail that has the coat hanger on it? No it is not! Yet people do this anyway! It's pretty frustrating.

I have the day off tomorrow and am hoping to go for the first run of the New Year with my sister...and I might even start on my book too! I'm a little anxious about this new endeavour. I love writing, and as a magazine columnist, I know how to write in a structured way. However, all of the pieces I write are very chatty and personal- the only experience I have of book writing is my fictional 'novels' from when I was a child! I think it's going to take some time to work out what I want this book to do- inform, entertain or both- and how personal I want it to be, how long it will be and who my readers will be. Tomorrow, it's time to brainstorm!

Thought of the day: What comes easy won't last, what lasts won't come easy. (Yes this is in reference to my book writing...it will take time to complete it!)

The final words to my ex.

Today's blog post is late, I know, but that's because it's been very hard for me to write.  This is going to be the last time I write about my ex boyfriend and my previous relationship. Effectively, I am giving it all a final goodbye.  Of course  I know my relationship ended on New Year's Eve. Unofficially, it probably ended long before then. I haven't seen my ex since 27th of December, since last year, which is a really weird thought. And whilst I had accepted it was over, I had a teeny tiny part of me that still loved him and hoped we would get back together.  I had deleted him from all social media except facebook, boxed up all of my things from him and taken down all of the photos. I got a new phone (by coincidental timing) and did not keep his number, nor did I send him my new one. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek - Body Image and Mental Health

This week (13th - 20th May 2019) is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year, the theme is Body Image - how we think and feel about our bodies.  Those of you who have followed me for some time will know that for about two years now, if not more, I have been an advocate for body positivity and self love. More recently, you may have seen me featured in a story in The Metro , talking about a body shaming incident I experienced on holiday and how I dealt with it.  There's absolutely no denying that there is a direct correlation between body image and our mental health. I know that personally, when I'm experiencing a "bad body day" and don't feel very positively about my body, for whatever reason, my mental health goes down the drain too.
