#SeptemberStudies- Breakfast ideas!

I am sure you will have heard this one thousand times before but breakfast is genuinely one of the most important meals of the day, with research suggesting that your breakfast should be around 400 to 500 calories. The food you eat first thing in the morning is so important as this is what fuels you throughout your entire day.

More studies have shown those students who eat breakfast perform better in the classroom and in exams than those who don't. So stop making excuses as to why you can't have breakfast before school and have a read of some of these ideas that will help you to start your day right- they're all quick, easy and all very tasty!

Scrambled egg.
Use two medium sized eggs for your scrambled egg and have it on either one or two buttered pieces of toast. You can change this breakfast dish up pretty easily by adding different things to your eggs, such as herbs, pancetta and different spices. Quick, easy and filling!

Boiled eggs
Boiled eggs take a few minutes longer depending on what kind of consistency you like your yolk to be, but this is another breakfast that can be prepared in minutes. Don't forget your soldiers to dip into the egg! (I like mine with marmite!)

Cereal
Nothing is more quick or more easy than a bowl of cereal. There is so much variety too, from coco pops and cornflakes to frosties and bran flakes, rice crispies to cookie crisp and everything in between! You can also have cereal with any kind of milk, so this option can be adapted to a vegan diet too.

Fruit
Why not have a bowl of fruit for breakfast? Or as opposed to one kind of fruit, you could even make yourself a fruit salad for breakfast, getting those five a day in first thing!

Toast
Some might call it boring but some breakfast is better than no breakfast; your toast can even come with your eggs, your cereal or your fruit! There's also several toppings to put on toast- jam (in several varieties), marmalade, marmite, honey, chocolate spread, plain butter...lots to choose from!

Bagels
Bagels are just amazing. Come on, who doesn't like bagels? They take a matter of minutes to toast and, like toast itself, there is several things you can have on bagels. Be creative and find what you like best!

Croissant
Croissant's are flaky pieces of heaven that go well with a hot chocolate and plenty of butter! They aren't the healthiest breakfast option but they are one of the tastiest! They can also be enjoyed hot or cold so are great for an 'on the go' breakfast too.

Breakfast Muffins
Even better than breakfast muffins is cheesy breakfast muffins! But these are also great with marmite. Classically British! (this image however, is a great McMuffin you can get from good old Maccy D's- another great way to enjoy breakfast on the go but definitely not very healthy!)

Waffles
Waffles drizzled in thick, golden syrup or sprinkled all over with brown sugar are just utterly divine and will definitely make for a sweet start to your day!
