Why our Queen is awesome

England is usually the piss take of a country compared to most- we talk about breaking the seal on a night out, we care too much about cups of tea, our prime minister has done unspeakable things with a pig...but the cherry on the cake has to be our little Queenie. She is a bit of a legend and here's why:

She loves cows.
If you haven't seen the clip, Google it immediately. The Queen gets literally so excited about a cow and it is the cutest thing ever! 

She acted for TV.
That's right, not once but twice the Queen has become an actress for our nation. First, in the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony where she actually improvised and kept Daniel Craig (playing James Bond) awkwardly waiting, and then with Prince Harry and the Obama's for the Invictus games! 



She has the best resting bitch face.
She always looks as though she is literally so done with the country, or even being the Queen. Her resting bitch face is so good. 



She came to Aylesbury.
That's right. My hell hole of a town! Full of scumbags and losers (although lots of lovely people too, I assure you!), the Queen drove through our town and smiled as though she was actually enjoying it. Ha! 



She recently wore a suit in a luminous (and hideous) green colour.
And she gave absolutely no craps about it. She glowed green and stood out from the crowd without caring about the clashing magenta flowers on her hat. Or about the fact she was wearing a green screen that the internet then had tonnes of fun with. Bless her.



Her birthday lasts for months.
Literally. We began celebrating in April. It's now June and we're still bloody celebrating. (I'm not jealous)




She has hats to match everything.
Seriously, everything. Even the luminous green colour she chose to sport on her birthday. Whatever she chooses to wear has a matching hat.

Children With Cancer UK Fashion Show!

Friday 27th February 2015 saw the grand event that was a fashion show in London for the fabulous charity, Children with Cancer UK. I was invited to the event about 2 weeks ago as a blogger, to cover the event and raise awareness of the charity. I was honored to have been asked to do so, as the charity is really just so important, as well as super excited to cover a fashion show, as this was something I had never done before! The night was a huge success, and the display of talent was extremely impressive- from the designers work, to the various acts performing in between! #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek - Body Image and Mental Health

This week (13th - 20th May 2019) is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year, the theme is Body Image - how we think and feel about our bodies.  Those of you who have followed me for some time will know that for about two years now, if not more, I have been an advocate for body positivity and self love. More recently, you may have seen me featured in a story in The Metro , talking about a body shaming incident I experienced on holiday and how I dealt with it.  There's absolutely no denying that there is a direct correlation between body image and our mental health. I know that personally, when I'm experiencing a "bad body day" and don't feel very positively about my body, for whatever reason, my mental health goes down the drain too. Yet when we feel good about our bodies, this can be reflected in our mental health too.  When I experienced body shaming in my bikini on holiday, I felt the lowest I had in a while. Eating Disorders- the Blunt Truth.

WARNING:  The following content is sensitive and me be triggering to those suffering from, recovering from or who have recovered from eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia and other health problems such as depression. As I sit down in my local pub ready to tuck into my generous portion of gammon and chips, I feel a prickle on the back of my neck- that all to familiar feeling of knowing that someone is staring at you. As I whip my head around the dining area, my eyes fall on the slender figure of a girl, probably around my age, maybe a few years younger, looking at me with disgust in her eyes- disgust clearly at the way I look and what I'm eating. I feel fat, bulky, uncomfortable and I let my glance fall to her own plate, noticing she has a salad, mostly untouched. She sips constantly at her water like it's the only thing keeping her alive.
